What are the requirements for daycare and/or boarding?
Requirements include:
- Age greater than 4 months old
- Up to date vaccines
- Submission of required forms via reservation software, print, email, drop off, or in-person.
Are vaccines required?
Current vaccination status is required for all dogs staying with us. Vaccines should be completed at least two weeks before scheduled stay at The Furry Farmhouse LLC.
Vaccines include:
- Rabies (required for any puppy over 4 months of age and older)
- Distemper/Parvo (including booster if needed)
- Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
Canine influenze is recommended, but not required currently due to a shortage of the vaccine.
Does my dog have to be spayed or neutered?
No, your dog does not have to be spayed or neutered. We do not accept female dogs in heat. If a female dog goes into heat while in our facility, the Owner will be charged an additional $25 per day throughout the dog’s stay. We take very seriously the health and safety of all dogs in our facility.
Should I bring food for my dog’s stay, or is food provided?
It is preferred you bring food for your dog’s stay, as changes in a dog’s diet can often cause stomach upset, especially when already in a new environment. If, however, you forget food, or your pet runs out of food while staying with us, we can provide food for an additional charge.
Is my dog required to be on anti-parasitic therapy?
Yes! For the safety and health of all the dogs staying with us, it is imperative your dog is on some type of anti-parasitic treatment such as Frontline, Bravecto, etc. If your dog is noted to have fleas or ticks while staying with us, a flea/tick bath and/or treatment may be administered and charged to your account at your expense.
What if my dog needs medication administered during his or her stay?
We are able to administer medications to your dog, if necessary. Additional fees apply for medications given by injection and for anti-parasitic oral and topical medications.
What if my dog gets sick or hurt during his or her stay?
Sometimes dogs get sick, and unfortunately, sometimes accidents happen. Though these instances are rare and infrequent, we take the health and safety of your dog seriously. If either of these things occur, you will be immediately contacted, and if necessary, a veterinarian will be consulted.
What if my dog has an episode of vomiting or diarrhea before he or she is to be at daycare or boarded?
Please keep your dog at home or make other arrangements if he or she is showing any signs of illness, including but not limited to, vomiting, diarrhea, gagging, or coughing. If we note any symptoms of illness while your dog is at our facility, you will be contacted immediately. If you cannot be contacted, your dog will be isolated, and if necessary, we will consult a veterinarian.
Is there a certain time I need to pick up my dog?
All dogs must be picked up by closing time. If dog(s) are not picked up by 30 minutes past closing time, then overnight boarding fees will apply plus any charge for required food. There is a 50 cent per minute late charge for any dog not picked up by closing time. If dog is not picked up by 7:30 am the next morning, applicable daycare fees will apply.
Weekend pick up times are on Saturday from 9am to 10am and on Sunday from 4pm to 5pm. If you prefer a different time, we may be able to accomodate the request. However, there is an additional $25 fee, and acceptance of the request is dependent upon staff availability.
When is payment due for my dog’s stay?
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required for boarding reservations at the time of booking. For peak weeks, a 100% non-refundable deposit is required for boarding reservations at the time of booking.
While we understand the occasional emergency or unforeseen change in plans occurs, failure to give adequate notice of reservation cancellations or changes does not allow us to offer your reservation to another Owner/dog(s).
All confirmed reservations for Non-holiday/non-peak days must be cancelled at least seven (7) days prior to pet’s reserved arrival date. A cancellation made within 7 days of pet’s arrival date or a no-show will result in the forfeiture of the non-refundable 50% deposit already paid at time of reservation.
Holiday/Peak Day Policy: All confirmed reservations for holiday/peak days must be cancelled at least fifteen (15) days prior to pet’s reserved arrival date. Cancellation made within fifteen (15) days of pet’s reserved arrival date, or a no show will result in no refund and forfeiture of non-refundable 100% prepayment already paid at time of reservation.
